Facial mesotherapy

Facial mesotherapy is a medical treatment consisting of superficial microinjections of vitamins, hyaluronic acid and other revitalising actives directly into the skin of the face. The aim is to improve hydration, radiance and overall skin quality from within, under the medical supervision of Dr Soraya.

What facial mesotherapy is and how it works

Through very superficial, targeted microinjections, the skin is given the nutrients it needs to improve its appearance and hydration. The session is adapted to each patient after a prior assessment, adjusting the protocol to the condition of the skin and the objective.

Facial mesotherapy is one of the facial aesthetic medicine treatments at Alta Armonía in El Albir. It works on the hydration and nourishment of the skin through microinjections, along the same lines as SkinBooster, and it can be combined with a medical peel within a single skin-quality protocol. The schedule is set at the first consultation.

What is injected in a session

There is no single mesotherapy cocktail. The formula is prepared according to what each skin needs and usually combines vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, the kind that hydrates without adding volume.

That is the difference from a filler: here we are not correcting a fold or defining a contour, but improving the quality of the tissue from within. That is why facial mesotherapy works well as maintenance and as preparation for the skin before or after another treatment.

The exact composition is decided by the doctor at the assessment, according to the condition of the skin, age, accumulated sun damage and each patient’s objective.

The session, step by step

1. Skin assessment. Before anything is injected, the condition of the skin is reviewed and we confirm that the treatment is indicated in your case. If it is not, we say so.

2. Cleansing and make-up removal. The area is cleaned and disinfected before starting.

3. Microinjections. Very superficial injections are applied across the area to be treated — usually the face, and also the neck, décolletage or backs of the hands — forming a network of points that distributes the active evenly.

4. Guidance at the end. It is normal for small papules or some redness to remain for the following hours. At the end we explain the guidance on sun, skincare and make-up for the days that follow.

It is a well-tolerated treatment and does not require a long recovery. The number of sessions and how they are spaced are determined at the first consultation: it is not something that can be said without seeing the skin.

We cover it at more length on the blog: what facial mesotherapy is and when it is indicated.

Why choose facial mesotherapy at Alta Armonía

The skin improves gradually as the recommended cycle of sessions is completed.

The microinjections are very superficial; most patients describe it as mild, well-tolerated discomfort.

Radiance and hydration are usually noticeable from the first sessions.

The whole treatment is carried out under the doctor’s supervision, with safe medical protocols.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about facial mesotherapy

A cycle of several sessions is usually recommended, roughly every two weeks. The exact number is set at the initial assessment according to the condition of the skin.

The microinjections are very superficial. Most patients describe it as mild, well-tolerated discomfort.

The skin usually looks brighter and better hydrated from the first sessions, with progressive improvement over the full cycle.

Yes, it is a treatment that usually combines well with other facial approaches. It is always assessed individually.

Both hydrate and work on the quality of the skin, but not in the same way. Mesotherapy delivers a cocktail of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants as well as hyaluronic acid; SkinBooster focuses on low-density hyaluronic acid to retain water in the dermis. Which one is appropriate, or whether to combine them, is decided at the assessment.

It is normal for small papules or some redness to remain for a few hours. The specific guidance on make-up, skincare and sun exposure is given at the end of the session, because it depends on the area treated and the formula applied.

It can be carried out all year round. What does change with the season is the sun protection afterwards, which is explained in consultation. Many patients look for it at the end of summer, when the skin has accumulated sun damage and dehydration.
