Body aesthetic medicine in El Albir

Cellulite, body contour or laxity can conceal different causes: fluid retention, fat accumulation or loss of firmness. The assessment establishes which one predominates before the technique is chosen.

What body aesthetic medicine treats

Behind words such as «cellulite» or «contour» lie different causes, and the technique that works for one is of no use for another. These are the most common objectives, and how they are worked on.

Fluid retention, heavy legs and swelling. When what predominates is retained fluid rather than fat, the work is circulatory: pressotherapy with sequential compression, or manual lymphatic drainage using the Renata França method, which mobilises the fluid by hand.

Cellulite. This is where the difference between treating the symptom and understanding the cause shows most clearly: retention, a fatty component or a change in the tissue may predominate. It is addressed with carboxytherapy, which improves microcirculation in the area, with body mesotherapy or with a combined plan of fat-reducing and anti-cellulite treatments.

Localised fat. Those deposits that do not respond to diet or exercise — the abdomen, flanks, inner thigh — are treated with Vanquish, which works without touching the skin, or with body mesotherapy in a personalised formula.

Laxity and loss of firmness. After weight loss, after pregnancy or simply over time, the skin can lose tone. Radiofrequency with Exilis works on firming and tightening the body.

Stretch marks. The carboxytherapy helps to improve the appearance of the stretch mark by acting on the quality of the tissue.

Body hair and pigmentation. Intense pulsed light with Exilite covers medical hair removal and pigmentation outside the face.

There is almost never a single cause. What is usual is for two to coexist — retention and fat, or fat and laxity — and for the plan to have to address both in a specific order.

Body treatments work cumulatively and rarely with a single technique. At Alta Armonía they are combined with judgement within a plan with follow-up, not as isolated sessions.

Body treatments

All treatments are carried out under the supervision of qualified healthcare staff, and the plan is set out in the prior assessment. Not sure which one you need? Start with the first consultation.

How we choose the treatment

There is a fundamental difference between the body and the face: body treatments work cumulatively. There is no isolated session that solves it; there is a plan with a number of sessions, an order and follow-up that allows adjustments along the way.

That is why everything begins with the medical assessment. It establishes what predominates in your case — retention, localised fat or loss of firmness — because the whole of the subsequent choice depends on that answer. Treating cellulite with a circulatory component as though it were a fat problem is the most common way of getting no results.

From the diagnosis comes a plan that almost always combines techniques: one that mobilises, another that acts on the fat deposit, another that firms. It is set out in consultation, with a course of sessions adapted to each objective, and it is reviewed as the process goes on.

It is worth saying plainly: body aesthetic medicine is not a weight-loss treatment. It works on contour, localised fat, retention and firmness, and it does not replace weight loss or habits of diet and physical activity. Results depend on each patient’s characteristics and cannot be guaranteed.

All treatments are carried out under the supervision of qualified healthcare staff and none is performed without a prior assessment.

Frequently asked questions about body aesthetic medicine

Are these treatments a way of losing weight?

No. They work on localised fat, fluid retention, cellulite and skin firmness, which are different things from body weight. They do not replace weight loss or habits of diet and exercise, and the assessment explains clearly what can be expected in each case.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the technique and, above all, on the starting point. Body treatments are planned as a course of sessions adapted to each objective, and the number and the intervals are set during the medical assessment, once the case has been seen.

Can several techniques be combined?

Yes, and with the body that is the norm, because there is rarely a single cause. What is decided in consultation is not only which techniques, but in what order and how far apart.

When do changes start to show?

These are progressive treatments: the effect builds over the course of the protocol, not in an isolated session. That is why follow-up forms part of the plan and progress is reviewed as it goes.

Can I carry on as normal after the session?

Generally yes. Most are well-tolerated treatments that do not require a long recovery. The specific guidance for each technique — hydration, physical activity, sun exposure — is given at the end of the session.

If you do not know where to start, start with the first consultation: a medical assessment in which your case is examined, what predominates is established and you are told what plan you would need, with no obligation.
