Pelvi-Up

Pelvi-Up is the HIFEM technology available in El Albir for toning the deep musculature with no physical effort and no recovery time. Each session generates the equivalent of 20,000 muscle contractions, working areas that conventional exercise struggles to reach.

What Pelvi-Up is

Pelvi-Up uses HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology to induce supramaximal muscle contractions non-invasively. Unlike voluntary exercise, these contractions work 100% of the muscle fibres in the treated area simultaneously, achieving deep, visible muscle remodelling.

At Alta Armonía we mainly use it on the buttocks and the pelvic floor, although it can also be combined with other body treatments to enhance results.

Pelvi-Up is the pelvic floor health treatment at Alta Armonía in El Albir. It is a different field from body aesthetic medicine, although in some cases they are planned in parallel. The assessment is carried out at the first consultation.

The session, step by step

1. Assessment. The case is reviewed and contraindications are checked, which for this technology are specific: certain metal implants and electronic devices, among others. This must be done before the first session.

2. Positioning. The patient sits on the equipment fully clothed. There is no need to undress and no direct contact with the area.

3. The session. The electromagnetic field produces contractions of the musculature. The sensation is of intense contraction, not pain, and the intensity is increased gradually, adapted to each person.

4. At the end. Normal life straight away. A sensation similar to the one after exercising may remain in the area.

The number of sessions and their frequency are determined at the medical assessment, according to the symptoms and the starting point.

Pelvic floor and buttocks are not the same objective

The same equipment covers two different things and it is worth not mixing them up. As pelvic floorwork, the objective is functional: continence, tone and the recovery of muscles that support specific functions. That is what is covered on the page about pelvic floor, with the signs that bring patients to the clinic.

As work on the buttocks, the objective is muscle toning and shape. It is not a fat reduction treatment: if what you are looking for is volume, the plan is different and is combined with Vanquish o Exilis.

Which of the two objectives applies — or both — is decided at the first consultation.

You can see what the centre is like and who works there before booking your assessment.

We cover it at more length on the blog: how to look after your pelvic floor day to day.

How it works

The device emits high-intensity electromagnetic pulses that penetrate the muscle tissue without affecting the skin or the fatty tissue. The muscle responds with involuntary contractions of an intensity impossible to achieve through voluntary exercise. The result is muscle hypertrophy and definition noticeable from the first sessions.

The session lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes. The patient stays relaxed while the device works. You feel intense but painless muscle contractions. It requires no anaesthetic, no preparation beforehand and no recovery time afterwards.

Results begin to show from the second or third session. The usual protocol is 5 to 10 sessions on alternate days. Results are progressive and consolidate in the weeks following the treatment as the muscle remodels.

Pelvi-Up requires no surgery, no injections and no recovery period. You can return to your usual activity immediately after each session. It is a real alternative for patients who want body toning results without the risks or the downtime of surgery.

Ideal candidates for Pelvi-Up

  • People who want to tone and lift the buttocks without surgery
  • Those looking to strengthen the pelvic floor non-invasively
  • Patients with muscle laxity from a sedentary lifestyle or hormonal changes
  • People who exercise but cannot get results in specific areas
  • Those who want to complement other body treatments (Vanquish, Exilis)

Pelvi-Up is not a fat reduction treatment. If the aim is to reduce volume, we combine it with Vanquish or Exilis in a personalised protocol.

Frequently asked questions about Pelvi-Up

What people ask us most before starting

Yes. The treatment is not indicated for people with a pacemaker, metal implants in the area to be treated, implanted electronic devices, or during pregnancy. At the prior assessment the doctor will review your history to confirm that you are a candidate.

No special preparation is needed. Come in comfortable clothing and without metal objects on the area to be treated. You can eat normally before the session and return to your usual activity immediately afterwards.

Results are long-lasting as long as an active lifestyle is maintained. Toned muscle can lose some of its definition over time with a sedentary lifestyle or significant hormonal changes. To maintain results, a maintenance session can be carried out every 3 to 6 months depending on the case.

No. Pelvi-Up works exclusively on muscle — it tightens, strengthens and defines it. It is not designed to eliminate localised fat. If the aim is to reduce volume as well as tone, at Alta Armonía we combine it with Vanquish or Exilis in a personalised protocol.

No. The session is carried out seated and fully clothed, with no direct contact with the area. It is one of the reasons this treatment is easier to keep up over time than the alternatives.

Yes, there are specific contraindications for this technology: certain metal implants and electronic devices, among other situations. They are always reviewed at the prior assessment, before the first session.

They work the same muscles but not in the same way. The difficulty with Kegels is isolating the contraction correctly: it is common to activate the abdomen or the glutes while believing you are working the pelvic floor. Here the contraction does not depend on the patient’s technique. We explain it in more detail on the page about pelvic floor.
