Facial aesthetic medicine in El Albir
Dull skin, a contour that has lost definition and pronounced expression lines are three different problems, and each responds better to a different technique. That is why everything here begins with a medical assessment.
What facial aesthetic medicine treats
Facial aesthetic medicine does not treat «the face» in the abstract: it treats specific objectives, and each one responds better to a different technique. These are the most common ones, and how they are addressed at Alta Armonía.
Dull or dehydrated skin, or skin with accumulated sun damage. When the problem is not the wrinkle but the quality of the skin — a lack of radiance, rough texture, fine lines of dehydration — the work is done in the dermis: deep hydration with SkinBooster or vitamins and antioxidants with facial mesotherapy.
Expression lines. Those on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes are caused by repeated muscle movement. They are treated with botox, which relaxes the muscles responsible in a controlled way and helps the line become less marked.
Loss of volume and definition. Thin lips, flattened cheekbones or a poorly defined jawline are a matter of structure, not surface. This is the territory of hyaluronic acid, which restores volume where the tissue has lost it.
Pigmentation, rosacea and thread veins. Very common in a sunny area such as the Marina Baixa. Intense pulsed light with Exilite helps to fade pigmentation and to treat rosacea and thread veins — those fine, visible capillaries on the cheeks and around the nose — while a medical peel renews the surface of the skin in a controlled way.
Acne and acne marks. Acne is not only an adolescent condition and it has a medical approach. Exilite is indicated for acne, and the medical peel works on renewing the surface; when what remains is marking and uneven texture, this is where Dermapen.
Uneven texture, enlarged pores and marks. Here the aim is to stimulate the tissue to repair itself: Dermapen through microneedling, or platelet-rich plasma using the patient’s own growth factors.
Laxity and loss of firmness. When the skin of the face and neck has lost tone, radiofrequency with Exilis works on firming without surgery.
Most cases do not fit into a single box. Skin with pigmentation usually has uneven texture as well, and a face that has lost volume has almost always lost firmness at the same time. That is why the plan is rarely a single technique: it is an order of treatment.
Facial aesthetic medicine is not about applying whichever treatment is in fashion, but about identifying what each face needs. In the initial consultation we set out the plan — which technique, in what order and on what schedule — before proposing anything.

How we choose the treatment
Everything begins with a medical assessment at the clinic. It is not a formality or a sales visit: it is where we decide what is done, in what order and on what schedule, and where we rule out anything that is not appropriate.
Three things are reviewed in that consultation. What concerns you, which does not always match the first thing anyone else notices. What the skin shows: quality, tone, pigmentation, firmness and the bone structure of the mid and lower face. And what is compatible with your case: medical background, previous treatments, the time of year and realistic expectations.
From that comes a plan. Sometimes it is a single technique; more often it is a combination in which each one does something different — one restores volume, another improves the quality of the skin, another works on the surface — and the order matters as much as the choice.
All treatments are carried out under the supervision of qualified healthcare staff. None is performed without that prior assessment, and results depend on each patient’s individual characteristics: they cannot be guaranteed and are not the same for everyone.
Frequently asked questions about facial aesthetic medicine
Do I need a medical assessment before any facial treatment?
Yes, always. It is a rule of the clinic and also a requirement of healthcare regulations: no treatment is carried out without a prior in-person assessment. That visit determines what is indicated in your case and what is not.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the technique and the objective. Some treatments are planned as a single session with a follow-up review, others as a course of sessions spread over time. The exact number and its spacing are set during the medical assessment, never before seeing the skin.
Can several treatments be combined?
Yes, and in many cases that is what is indicated, because each technique works on something different. What is not improvised is the order or the intervals between them: that forms part of the plan defined in consultation.
When do results start to show?
It varies according to what has been done. Techniques that act on the surface of the skin show sooner; those that stimulate collagen production work gradually and their effect builds over time. The assessment explains what to expect in each case and within what timeframe.
Can I carry on as normal after the session?
Generally yes. Most facial aesthetic medicine treatments are well tolerated and do not require a long recovery, although some leave temporary redness or sensitivity in the hours that follow. Specific guidance — sun, make-up, exercise — is given at the end of the session.
If you are not sure where to start, start at the beginning: the first consultation is a medical assessment in which your case is examined and you are told what you would need, with no obligation to book anything.
